According to New York Curbed, “A program to install Art Deco-style towers in front of the city’s bridges and tunnels has come under heavy scrutiny this week after it was revealed that the MTA had set aside $100 million for the project, in the midst of a subway crisis.”

The problem is the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) installed three of these Orwellian looking towers and are refusing to tell their people what they are being used for. At this time they are stating “no comment.”
