Reminder, Gorbachev’s State Of The Union Address to his people was in 1988 (the press was there, and I believe it was also televised at the time) in which he stated: “Do not be alarmed at the coming changes in the Soviet Union. They are nothing but mere cosmetic changes for the eventual take over of the United States of America and Canada”. I’ll never forget those words that I read in the Boston Globe (Massachusetts), when I was a lot younger. The original article was longer.
And Nikita Kruschev said Russia would take us over without firing a shot (1960 Televised up close and personal, right to the spaces between his top front teeth). I was just a kid. Never forgot that either.
