In the blink of an eye, tens of thousands of people lost access to money, food, gas, heat, communications, medial, and security. When the power grid goes down, people suffer. Just like they did when a blackout struck New York City leaving 73,000 people without power for 4-5 hours. Concerts and broadway performances stoped, grocery stores and businesses closed and the subway shut down. The city was in a state of panic.
