They might be successful in eradicating false religion. The true and living God has no love for false religion and will not protect it. When it comes to true religion, worship of the true God then it will not succeed anymore than Haman when he tried to eradicate the Jews in Esther’s day, anymore than Pharaoh could eradicate the Hebrews at the Red Sea, anymore than Herod could eradicate Jesus soon after his birth, anymore than the King of Assyria Sennacherib could eradicate the Jews in Jerusalem under King Hezekiah. No, the true and living God protects his people. Although it is prophetic that in the last days the political rulers will come up against God’s organization with malice in their heart and plans to destroy them it will not succeed. Instead it will bring about their own destruction just like it happened with Haman, Pharaoh and Sennacherib. God’s people are the apple of his eye. No lasting harm or defeat will befall them.
