In a matter of HOURS, tensions rose between the US, Russia, and France. After the suspension of a 1987 Intermediate-range Nuclear Force (INF) treaty that banned land-based missiles with ranges from 310-3,420 miles which followed Washington’s accusations that Moscow violated the deal with its news Novator 9M729 missile.

Once the treaty was suspended the US, France, and Russia all laughed nuclear-capable missiles within hours of each other raising fears of a return to the Cold-War arms raced.
